| Biography I live and work in a house that used to be a home for elderly people, and here I also show my works to the public in my own gallery. It is an idyllic place on the Norwegian coast,it takes me just a minute to get to the open sea,and here I find most of my scenes for painting, either as seascapes or as details from the rocks and cliffs, with their cracks and varied surfaces. But my home also has nearby access to some of the most wild and rugged mountains you can find anywhere, popular for climbing and cliff diving. And in between the ocean and the mountain walls you find a whole range of different landscape types, most of which are potential scenes for painting. I was studying engineering (oil platform stability) when I decided to go for the arts, and I have been a full time artist since 1982. My first solo exhibition was in 1986,and I have added some 50 shows to that list after that. Participation in collective shows is countless. I am a member of The Association of Norwegian Visual Artists (NBK) and The International Guild of Realism (IGOR), I was the first Norwegian artist to become a jury member of IGOR. My works are spread in many countries all over the world, and they have won prizes. |
