Born in Brooklyn NY in 1954 , you can truly use the term self taught regarding Kevin McKrell’s education in the fine arts. However if you asked him he would tell you he is learning at the feet of Burton Silverman ,Daniel Greene, Norman Rockwell, Robert Henri and Paul Henry to name a few of the artists he looks to for education and inspiration.
A songwriter and musician by trade he has traveled the U.S. ,Canada and Ireland as a member of several different Celtic bands. The influence of Ireland is evident in his work. From the streets of Dublin City to the rugged shores of Achill Island Kevin draws his inspiration from the people and the landscape of Ireland. |
